A Solid Edge Certification provides you with an industry recognized credential that demonstrates proficiency with Solid Edge software and distinguishes you within the Engineering community. Solid Edge certification is offered in three levels: Associate, Professional and Expert. Certification exams are offered on the current version of software and the most recent prior version. If you have not used the current software version yet, we recommend that you download the software and familiarize yourself with what’s new, before taking the exam. Solid Edge Mechanical Associate Level Certification
First year university/college students and secondary- school students who have learned Solid Edge through an introductory engineering technology class, or participated in a STEM competition team such as FIRST Robotics, Greenpower or Formula Student, are encouraged to take the Solid Edge Mechanical Associate Level exam. This certification demonstrates that you have a firm grasp of the knowledge required to create basic mechanical design models.
This exam tests basic knowledge of the Solid Edge user interface, sketching tools and techniques, part modeling, assembly and drawing creation. A basic understanding of each environment and respective commands and features is needed to pass this exam.
It is recommended that you have at least 1 to 2 years of Solid Edge experience before taking the Solid Edge Mechanical-Associate level exam.
Solid Edge Mechanical Professional Level Certification
Industry professionals who use Solid Edge and University and Technical College students who have learned Solid Edge through a college level engineering technology course or have used Solid Edge during an internship within industry, are encouraged to take the Solid Edge Mechanical Professional level exam to differentiate themselves in the engineering field. This certification demonstrates that you have of the knowledge required to create professional mechanical design models, as well as proficiency in more advanced techniques.
This exam tests a working knowledge of the user interface, Synchronous part and sheet metal modeling commands and techniques, assembly commands and relationships, as well as drawing view creation and annotations. A more advanced understanding of each environment and their essential commands is needed to pass this exam.
It is recommended that you have 2+ years of experience before taking the Solid Edge Mechanical-Professional level exam.
Solid Edge Mechanical Expert Level Certification
Solid Edge users who have been actively designing products within industry and have mastered advanced modeling techniques are encouraged to take the Solid Edge Mechanical Expert level exam. This certification demonstrates that you have obtained a high degree of proficiency with Solid Edge mechanical design capabilities.
This exam tests advanced knowledge of the user interface, synchronous, ordered part and sheet metal modeling commands and techniques, assembly commands and all assembly relationships, as well as drawing view creation, detailing, and annotations. An advanced understanding of each environment is needed to pass this exam.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Solid Edge Mechanical-Professional level exam.
It is recommended that you have 3 to 5 years of experience before taking the Solid Edge Mechanical Expert level exam.
