Solid Edge Mechanical – Expert Level Certification
The Solid Edge Mechanical – Expert Level certification shows that a user has obtained a high degree of proficiency with Solid Edge mechanical design capabilities. This certification covered advanced knowledge of the user interface, Synchronous and Ordered Part and Sheet Metal modeling commands and techniques, Assembly commands and all assembly relationships, as well as Drawing view creation, detailing, and annotations. An advanced understanding of each environment is required to earn this credential.
Achieving the SEM-EL certification also requires that the recipient first pass the Solid Edge Mechanical – Professional Level certification as a prerequisite.
Relevant Skills
The holder of this credential has demonstrated the following skills which usually take several years of active Solid Edge use to develop:
UI Proficiency
Knowledge and years of experience using many Solid Edge commands and advanced functions.
3D Modeling
The ability to model complex parts using advanced modeling techniques. The recipient showed a good understanding of synchronous and ordered modeling techniques.
Sheet Metal Design
An advanced understanding of sheet metal modeling features and functions to model manufacturable complex sheet metal parts.
Assembly
The skills and knowledge to assemble and animate a complex mechanism of many parts using advanced assembly relationships correctly, and to allow the mechanism to be set in multiple positions. Also demonstrated a deep understanding of the many commands, features and functions located in the Solid Edge assembly environment.
Drawing Layouts and Dimensioning
An advanced understanding of engineering drawing creation for manufacturing.
