An advanced understanding of each environment and their essential commands is required to earn this credential.

UI Proficiency
Advanced knowledge of Solid Edge commands, how they work, and their locations within their respective environments of the user interface.
3D Modeling
The ability to create advanced models with complex features by accurately interpreting detailed multi-view drawings.
Sheet Metal Design
The ability to create relatively complex sheet metal parts using multiple sheet metal specific commands and features.
Assembly
The skills and knowledge to locate and assemble multiple Solid Edge parts, using advanced assembly relationships correctly to allow an assembly to be set in multiple positions.
Drawing Layouts and Dimensioning
A good understanding of advanced drawing view types, as well as part and assembly annotations in Solid Edge.

Associate Level Certification
First year university/college students and secondary- school students who have learned Solid Edge through an introductory engineering technology class, or participated in a STEM competition team such as FIRST Robotics, Greenpower or Formula Student, are encouraged to take the Solid Edge Mechanical Associate Level exam.
Solid Edge Mechanical
Expert Level Certification
Solid Edge users who have been actively designing products within industry and have mastered advanced modeling techniques are encouraged to take the Solid Edge Mechanical Expert Level exam. Before taking this exam, you must have first passed the SEM-Professional Level exam.
